Curriculum Vitae (or: how it all came about)
My name is Mikel de Rooij.
I moved to France at the age of 17 to learn the language. Almost three years later, I returned to the Netherlands, working during the day and studying during the evening to become a real estate agent. Once I had finished my studies, I had difficulty finding a job in this sector.
I joined a young company in Amsterdam instead, which specialised in acting as an intermediary in leasing accommodation to employees from abroad. I enjoyed this work so much that I decided to stop looking for a job as a real estate agent. It gave me great satisfaction to help people find suitable accommodation in a country unfamiliar to them. As is so often the case in this line of work as well, the key to success is listening attentively to the wishes of a client.
Striking out on my own
Two years later I started my own business where I was living at that time. Before long I was enjoying success with new clients. In fact, it was going so well that I asked my brother Tim to join me, which turned out to be a wise decision. Together, we "conquered" and retained many clients (multinationals bringing employees over to the Netherlands) .
Years later the opportunity to move to our favourite part of France arose. We sold our business and I moved to the Cévennes together with my wife and children. I obtained my "Carte Professionelle Agence Immobiliere" (approved real estate broker) here and then founded 30 A Vendre, nearly five years ago.
Alain Grasset
Alain is "Maître d'oeuvre et dessinateur en Bâtiment", which is a regulated profession in France. He is a member of the "Chambre Nationale des Architectes Agrées Maitre d'ouvre Metreurs Experts", meaning he is taken seriously by his colleagues and building companies.
Alain is primarily responsible for providing practical construction assistance in close cooperation with me (we consult each other daily). Alain possesses all insurance policies and guarantees relating to his work and has never had to use them, indicative of how seriously he is taken by our clients and myself.
He is an invaluable addition to 30 A Vendre from whom you will reap the best fruits.
